Google releases Demographic Targeting

Google is hot on MSN’s trailblazing AdCenter product with this counter-slap (not a punch). The eternal marketing dream of being able to target only the right demographic is slowly becoming a reality. My only concern is the quality of the data being used, for instance, MSN believes that they have accurate data on their users, but according to someone in my office, he tells MSN that he is a 16 year old girl living in Afghanistan because he refuses to share his personal data - which leads me to wonder how many other people are concerned about their privacy and how it is exploited…

And the Oscar goes to…

Tsotsi!! For Best Foreign Language Film - and guess what - it’s South African! What a proud day for us all!

You may (or may not) be interested to know that the Venture Capital firm that has invested in incuBeta also part-owns the company that produced Tsotsi - (and no, I didn’t get tickets to the Oscars).

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, stop wondering! My wife and I bought a new home recently and spent the past week moving - it’s been a bit hectic, but things should return to normal soon, and I’ll continue with my blogging! I’ve got a couple of ideas drafted out already.

I can’t really seem to keep up with the pace at which Google et al. release new tools and features, so I’m going to continually try to steer my blog’s content toward the more strategic side of search & affiliate marketing, so stay tuned for some exciting insights.
