Vinny meets Al Gore

Vinny meets Al Gore, originally uploaded by Vinny Lingham.

As many of you may know – Global Warming presents a clear and present danger to all of us. I got a chance to speak to Al Gore briefly about his new movie, An Inconvenient Truth, which I highly recommend. It opened this weekend in South Africa and I’m proud to note that a local South African company, PBMR is considered to be a world leader in alternative energy design, and will be deploying a Pebble Bed Modular Reactor very soon on our soil. Google also announced plans to power their energy guzzling servers, using Solar Energy.

After watching An Inconvenient Truth, it as become even more of a concern, as the usage of energy continues to soar, that we find alternative energies – our generation is responsible for this problem, and we need to fix it!

Yahoo’s Small Business Opportunity…

I read the funniest article today from Greg Sterling.  Can any of my loyal readers tell me what he is talking about :-)

Performancing Blog Advertising Network Launches

Performancing have just announced that they are opening their blog partners network – effectively an advertising network.  My policy has always been that blogging (for me personally) is a past time and a way to share my views with the world – and for that reason, I have no interest in generating income from it.  That said, in the interest of understanding how the market is evolving, I will be testing out the Performancing network for the next month or so.  Any and all funds generated from this advertising will be donated to the Cape Town chapter of the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in December (just in time for Christmas).  For those who are interested, I’m the proud owner of two Jack Russels.

Yahoo (Finally) release Panama

Yahoo announced yesterday during their Q3 earnings call that they will launch Panama with immediate effect. I must confess that I haven’t had the opportunity to look into it mainly due to the fact that I haven’t had access to their backend up until now, due to the fact that we’re not a big Yahoo client, mainly because their old system sucked and we didn’t want to waste our time with it, when Google was giving us great returns – hopefully that will change.  Luckily the guys over at SEO Roundtable got a chance to cover the release in details with this post
