incuBeta sells TrafficSynergy

TrafficSynergy, until recently an incuBeta company, has been purchased by a private consortium, lead by marketing expert Eric Edelstein, for an undisclosed amount. TrafficSynergy will continue to trade under its current name.

Vinny Lingham, founder of incuBeta, said that incuBeta has been considering the sale of TrafficSynergy because of possible business conflicts. synthaSite, another incuBeta company, will soon launch a product also aimed at the affiliate market. The change of ownership was effected on October 26, 2005.

“We are delighted that Eric Edelstein will take TrafficSynergy forward. Eric has a passion for marketing and certainly is an expert in the affiliate market space,” said Lingham. “Although TrafficSynergy is a well-established brand, we need to be impartial to all affiliate networks. The sale of the TrafficSynergy network is thus natural outcome of incuBeta’s growth.”

Said Eric Edelstein: “TrafficSynergy will continue its relationship with current clients and will be looking to expand the client base. TrafficSynergy already offers an excellent service to both affiliate advertisers and marketers – I am looking forward to growing the business even further.”

TrafficSynergy is a platform that matches merchants looking for traffic on a performance basis with affiliate marketers.

synthaSite Beta Program Extended

Due to unprecedented demand, we have extended the Beta program for synthaSite. We only expect to go into production in Q1 2006. We have had literally hundreds of affiliate marketers testing synthaSite and the feedback has been extremely positive – some people are even worried that this product may harm their existing business, by making it very easy for affiliates to now use product feeds from eBay and the like.

We appreciate all your feedback and look forward to much more!

BOTBookClub.com launches…

And it’s about time. After many fantastic, and often forgotten discussions on the great books that exist in our time, I have decided to start a Business & Online Technology Book Club. The idea happened during dinner in London one night with Jonathan Forster, Alex Schultz, Willie Prinsloo and myself. We were discussing some of the great books that have been written in recent years.

As a result, BOTBookClub now exists, and we endeavour to write fantastic reviews and post insights on our readings into books such as Freakonomics, Chrossing the Chasm, Blink, The Tipping Point and much more.

The TT100 awards ceremony for Western Cape-based enterprises was held in Green Point, Cape Town, South Africa on 12 October. The TT100 awards event is a showcase for the innovation success of local technology companies.

ITWeb reported that that the judges were “bowled over by incuBeta’s success in developing a world-class range of web-based technologies that are clearly catching the attention of the major players in (global) web-based commerce…”

incuBeta provides a technology infrastructure for global online marketing and is continuously improving its range of software products to address the dynamic nature of the Internet.

incuBeta was founded in 2003 by four young entrepreneurs, Vinny Lingham, Llewellyn Claasen, Eric Edelstein and Charlene Troskie, who passionately believed that the Internet provides endless possibilities for online marketing.

The company grew from 5 people to 30 within the first eight months, and after over two years the company employs 45 people. A restructuring in 2005 saw the inclusion of Mark Levitt as CIO and a strong technology division under the leadership of Willie Prinsloo. The company also has a satellite office in Los Angeles and clients around the globe, including Australia, the UK, France, Spain, Germany and, of course, the USA.

incuBeta is looking forward to the wider adoption of its technology products in the global marketplace. The company is soon to launch an innovative affiliate website builder, namely synthaSite, that will provide exciting opportunities to affiliate marketers, merchants and networks.
