Back in action and some predictions…

Well, that was a great vacation!  Check out some of the new pics in my Flickr account.  I played golf, did some gyming, lots of family time and most importantly, lots of gaming!  Anyway, vacation is over now - and my week has already been a bit hectic.  I’m in Johannesburg at the moment and will be leaving for San Francisco this weekend for the Linkshare Summit & thereafter to Las Vegas for Affiliate Summit (where I’ll be speaking on a panel).  If you’re looking at meeting up with me and my team at these conferences, please drop me a line at vlingham”@”gmail.com (ignore “s).
Just some predictions for 2007:

1.  Someone will buy Opera for their browser capabilities - possibly Yahoo.

2.  The Web 2.0 boom will start getting even hotter, driven by copious profits from Google.

3.  Yahoo Panama will start of slowly and only gain steam in Q3 of this year.

4.  Widgets are going to be even bigger than this year with many more startups coming out of the woodwork.

5.  London’s AIM will become the next big destination for Web 2.0 companies (not Nasdaq due to Sarbaines-Oxley).

6.  Internet on the mobile has taken off!  How do I know?  My brother (who isn’t a geek) using his cellphone to check movietimes using http!

7.  Vinny moves to San Francisco … :-)
