incuBeta Press Release for TT100 Award

Official Press Release - Please distribute freely without modification:

incuBeta
has won an Emerging Technology Top 100 award as for Most Promising Emerging Enterprise. The TT100 awards ceremony for Western Cape-based enterprises was held in Green Point, Cape Town, South Africa on 12 October. The TT100 awards event is a showcase for the innovation success of local technology companies.

ITWeb reported that that the judges were “bowled over by incuBeta’s success in developing a world-class range of web-based technologies that are clearly catching the attention of the major players in (global) web-based commerce…”

incuBeta provides a technology infrastructure for global online marketing and is continuously improving its range of software products to address the dynamic nature of the Internet.

incuBeta was founded in 2003 by four young entrepreneurs, Vinny Lingham, Llewellyn Claasen, Eric Edelstein and Charlene Troskie, who passionately believed that the Internet provides endless possibilities for online marketing.

The company grew from 5 people to 30 within the first eight months, and after over two years the company employs 45 people. A restructuring in 2005 saw the inclusion of Mark Levitt as CIO and a strong technology division under the leadership of Willie Prinsloo. The company also has a satellite office in Los Angeles and clients around the globe, including Australia, the UK, France, Spain, Germany and, of course, the USA.

incuBeta is looking forward to the wider adoption of its technology products in the global marketplace. The company is soon to launch an innovative affiliate website builder, namely synthaSite, that will provide exciting opportunities to affiliate marketers, merchants and networks.

ITWeb Article on incuBeta’s recent award.

And another one.

incuBeta Wins “Most Promising Enterprise” Award

incuBeta scooped the Award for “Most Promising Enterprise” in the Emerging Companies (less than 3 years old) section of the Business Day Technology Top 100 Companies competition.

This effectively places us in the top 10 out of the top 100 in South Africa in our category. A fabulous honour! The award was bestowed upon us in a glitzy and fun filled evening at Lightbox Studios in Cape Town. Myself, Willie, Charlene & Adriaan were on hand to accept the award.

I will be posting pictures and links to the articles and press releases over the next few days.

ThatShoe.com Launches

Hi All

incuBeta has just launched the world’s first shoe search engine. The press release follows, please feel free to use or syndicate this release (without modification):

incuBeta launches the World’s First Dedicated Shoe Search Engine

incuBeta has just launched ThatShoe.com, the world’s first vertical shoe search engine.

ThatShoe.com utilizes product catalog information from seventeen large merchants, including eBay, Amazon and Zappos.com. Currently in beta testing, ThatShoe.com offers a selection of hundreds of thousands of shoes. The merchant base will be further expanded over the next few months.

Says incuBeta’s Chief Strategy Officer, Vinny Lingham: “We created a one-stop-shop for consumers looking for shoes. It is quick and easy to use, unlike clicking through directories or mostly irrelevant search results. The quality of results is based solely on the merchants’ ability to provide quality data feeds.”

Asked whether he would consider merchants who approach ThatShoe.com for inclusion, he said: “Of course. We’ll consider all online and offline merchants who approach us, but ThatShoe.com will only include reliable merchants who are able to fulfill our users’ requirements.”

incuBeta sees much potential in vertical search engines. The shoe category is a prime online opportunity with huge potential for growth. Research publications by eMarketer and JupiterResearch , amongst others, point to the potential of vertical search engines, with retail expected to be a major component of the vertical search market. To quote David Hills, CE of LookSmart, “(t)here are times when you are looking for something … and, from an efficiency standpoint, a vertical search engine may help you find what is essential to you.” (In: San Francisco Chronicle)

incuBeta is a Business Day Technology Top 100 company and winner of the Commission Junction Horizon Award for Innovation in the USA.
