Facebook valued at $15bn – raises $240m from Microsoft

    Its questionable if the value really is $15 Billion since this was a deal done because of the advertising deal Microsoft got out of it. So its a bit of a bribe..

    John – I do agree – $10bn was probably more realistic :-)

    Jokes aside – that valuation has subsequently been ratified by another $500m in investment from some hedge funds – although I do believe that they played Microsoft off against the others and wound up with a higher valuation – which was smart.
