Please note: I place affiliate ads into blogs that I host on paid hosting.
I do not place affiliate ads onto blogspot hosting or any other hosting that is not "mine" (i.e. paid hosting).

I have not achieved the success of Boing Boing yet, but I actually have made affiliate sales with my regular blogs.

Hats off to those who try the new blog partners network; I look forward to reading comments about this new way of earning income by blogging.
I understand that some people love PayPal and that's okay with me if someone else is a fan as long as my money isn't involved — at least I cited valid reasons above for not trusting PayPal.

Thanks for letting us know about this new development.
I read this: http://performancing.com/node/4833 and my first reaction was "Gee, that sounds great — but where's the nitty gritty?"

The Techcrunch article gives a good summary: the advertisement algorithm is done via javascript (similar to Adsense?) and "payment occurs via PayPal" — this is where I get off the subway train :-)
I wouldn't touch PayPal with a 10 foot pole but if other people like PayPal, good for them — if future complications develop in the future with PayPal, don't come back crying to me because I gave a fair warning.

As you can see, if payment is via PayPal, I say "no dice." Techcrunch said, "The lowest priced ad spaces are all $1 per month" — no thanks because I can make more money by picking out an affiliate ad that I like and pasting that with text links into one of my Blogger blogs. I am thinking about creating a WordPress blog but have not done so yet.
