Thomas Friedman’s “The World is Flat“, really resounded with me this weekend. I was reading a post by Mike Stopforth on some of South Africa’s top bloggers, where he regarded me as one of them and did a quick traffic comparison with Alexa. I proceeded to review my weblogs, and although technically, this may be true, only about 3% of my traffic is from South Africa – primarily because our business focus is global and there is a lot more traffic internationally by comparison. Also, given that my site is hosted in the USA, my entries don’t even show up in Google.co.za (I need to get around to fixing this – any suggestions?).

An Email to google can get you indexed in co.za, manually – I know someone who has a .com hosted in the US and got indexed in google.in in this manner – so that might with with google south africa too.

BTW, I am reading “the world is flat” on an off for the past week, too! There is another book I am reading alongside (recommended reading for anyone reading the world is flat), called “3 billion new capitalists”, contradictory (sort of) to the world is flat, but very convincing.

Thanks Guys.
It’s a little more tricky, because of content duplication issues. I’ve email Matt Cutts from Google, let’s see if he can shed some light on the issue.
Thanks for the Book recommendation Pranav.
